...just a few more weeks and I become a PGY-3 (post graduate year 3). Not a big landmark for the world, but for ME it's like heaven. The first year of dermatology residency is intellectually brutal...a whole new confusing vernacular with "perifolliculitis capitis abscedens et soffidiens" this and "pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta" that. It's a crazy language...and the good thing about becoming a PGY-3 is that now I've heard most things at least once. (Now I just have to remember it!!!!! I guess I have two more years for that.) So one step closer to no weekend call (just 2 short months) one step closer to being off the hot seat during grand rounds (welcome new first years :) and one step closer to becoming the kind of physician I envision. Year 8 of 9...here I come!!!! I'll take progress in any form...:)
